Execration is on the Way Out of Lima Major If It Can’t Get Its Acts Together

Execration seemed to be on its way out of the Lima Major as early as the group stage if it cannot get its acts together in the final two days of the eliminations.

The all-Filipino crew was simply going back to their wildly-inconsistent selves from the past DPC season as they continued to struggle in the third day of the tournament settling for two draws against Tundra and Gladiator Gaimin.

At one point, the team, which topped the SEA region was a beast before turning into a mediocre team the next. It was very much evident in their last two games.

Execration was a complete beast against GG in their Game 1 as Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina simply had his way on the Batrider with a 12-1-13 line while Jinn Marrey “Palos” Lamatao exploded for a stellar Monkey King game, finishing with a 16-3-15 line for a 41-17 decision.

The Filipino crew cannot sustain in the second game despite the impressive start, the team got utterly destroyed by GG, 31-7, to force the draw and deny Execration its breakthrough win in the tournament.

It was the other way around in their first game when they settled for a draw against TSM.

Execration had a good start in the series opener only to lose steam towards the end when they lost all of the important team fights. For the most part, the team rode the back of Bob on the Batrider and Palos on the Sven but the team collectively struggled to put the clamps down on Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon’s Undying and Jonathan “Bryle” De Guia’s Ember spirit.

Further putting the inconsistent performance under the microscope was Execration’s fiery comeback in Game 2 which in contrast to the first game, the Filipinos had to battle back from an early game deficit to come away with the win that forced the draw.

Mark Jubert “Shanks” Redira stepped up on his Earthshaker pick with a 6-6-24 line while Bob and Palos put up steady showing on the Puck and Monkey King respectively.

With the two draws, Execration is now out of the playoff picture, sitting at the eighth spot of nine team field in Group A with a 0-4-1 record.
