Cloud9 Valorant team reportedly weighing roster changes after poor LOCK//IN performance

Cloud9 is reportedly considering a roster shakeup this season, with star player Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker potentially being released from the team.

Reports from Dot Esports and Dexerto suggest that while no decision has been made yet, any player on the team may soon be put on the trading block or released altogether.

Yay, previously considered the best Valorant player in the world, was expected to be the missing piece in Cloud9’s winning portfolio, particularly after his standout performances on Chamber.

However, the team has struggled to achieve success, with their latest loss to 100 Thieves in the Red Bull Home Ground 3 grand final and a recent early exit from the VCT LOCK//IN in Brazil being cited as contributing factors to the potential roster changes.

If the decision to release yay and the entire team is confirmed, Cloud9 would be the first team to make major roster changes following their early exit from the tournament.

The mid-season transfer window for the Valorant Champions Tour runs from March 6 to March 25.
