After becoming the only two-time ML:BB world champion, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno is now dead-set on being the first two-time gold medalist in the ML:BB event of the Southeast Asian Games.

KarlTzy is currently part of the SIBOL ML:BB men’s national training pool after ECHO placed second in the national team qualifiers. He recently led ECHO to the M4 World Championship title in Indonesia last January.

“Motivation ko talaga yun kasi gusto kong makuha lahat e,” KarlTzy said during the second day of the SIBOL Combine on Saturday at the High Grounds Cafe in Quezon City.

KarlTzy and Bren Esports mid laner Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel are on pace to achieve the feat if they make it into SIBOL’s six-man lineup for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia this coming May.

“Syempre si Pheww din gusto ko rin masabayan magkaroon ng gold medal ulit. Masaya saka nakakamiss sila kasama,” he added.

Both players were key cogs in the Philippines’ gold medal campaign in the 2019 SEA Games in Manila. KarlTzy was still playing in the middle lane at the time while Pheww was a safe laner.

“Sobrang motivated ko ngayon talaga tapos yung mindset ko ganun pa rin, enjoy lang kahit anong mangyari.”
