Due to the disappointing features of 2022 Battle Pass, the prize pool of TI11 is growing slower than TI9 and TI10.

Many expected the 2022 Battle Pass to be more or less equal to the 2020 Battle Pass. In terms of cosmetics, items, and features, the 2020 Battle Pass was regarded to be the best Battle Pass so far.

However, the current 2022 Battle Pass instead were regressing in quality, lowering the projected TI11 prize pool.

Currently, TI11 prize pool sat at $8,500,000 after two and a half days of Battle Pass release. This was less than the previous two TIs which touched the $9,000,000 mark after two and a half days of Battle Pass sales.

However, it was still higher than the TI8 and below, which only peaked at $7,000,000 after two days of Battle Pass sale.

Fans and streamers alike such as Gorgc had expressed their concern regarding the downward trend of the prize pool. It seems it could be indicative of two things. First, the decline of Dota 2 popularity as a game, and second, the worrying quality of the current 2022 Battle Pass.

“Oh boy, it’s not looking too good.” Gorgc expressed his concern about the projected total prize pool of the tournament.

Although the increase were less than previous years, the current percentage still shows the purchasing strength of Dota 2 players. They have increased the prize pool by 432%, even with subpar Battle Pass that would only be complete in the second part.

Many fans were still hoping that Valve could improve their focus on Dota 2, rather than keeping the “maintenance mode” of the game.
