More SEA teams may actually be joining the next TI following Valve’s new DPC format!

Valve sneakily released its latest guidelines for the next Dota Pro Circuit (DPC). In its new format, DPC will be separated into three separate tours consisting of Regional Leagues and Majors.

With this new guideline, more points will be awarded towards the end of the circuit.

According to their page, the format for regional leagues and majors will remain the same. However, a new pointing system will be adapted which will put heavier importance on the later stage of the circuit.

Additionally, the points awarded in each event will increase in each tour.

Points distribution:

Tour 1
Regional Leagues total DPC points: 690
Major total DPC points: 1,900

Tour 2
Regional Leagues total DPC points: 920

Major total DPC points: 2,700

Tour 3
Regional Leagues total DPC points: 1,150
Major total DPC points: 3,500

Despite releasing its new format, Valve has yet to announce its target dates regarding the tournaments. However, it has released a deadline on roster lock which will finally end the roster shuffles following TI 10.

According to Valve, rosters shall be locked beginning November 21, 11:59 am PT.

With regard to the locks every after tours, player removals will lock at 1:59 pm CT on the Tuesday following a Major’s conclusion. However, teams can still add players on their open spots until 1:59 pm CT on that following Sunday.

In this new guideline, will we be seeing well-distributed teams on the next The International? Will we be seeing more SEA teams on the next TI?
