First Filipino gold medalist in Tokyo Olympics 2021 Hidilyn Diaz is receiving so much love that she actually deserves!
Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn recently claimed the top spot in Tokyo Olympics. Ahead of the tournament, the athlete faced multiple struggles during her training.
Diaz suffered from multiple backlash from fellow Filipinos after the athlete raised concerns with the government’s support for her historic story.
This time, our beloved athlete is receiving so much love that she deserves!
Hidilyn Diaz Receives Monetary Incentives
With the currently existing law in the Philippines which provides that every gold Olympic medal deserves would receive a P10 million incentive directly from Philippine Sports Commission through RA 10699.
Aside from the P10 million, Diaz’s rewards were also boosted by business tycoons Manny Pangilinan and Ramon Ang who are also giving P10 million each. Deputy house speaker Mikee Romero meanwhile would be chipping in an additional P3 million pesos for Diaz.
In addition, the gold medalist will also receive another P2.5 million from Zamboanga City as required by law.
Diaz to Receive Additional Incentives — Housing, Free Travel, and Free Fuel
Aside from the monetary incentives mentioned above, the Tokyo 2021 gold medalist is also expected to receive free fuel for life, lifetime free flights, a house and lot from Century Properties worth P4 million, and a P14 million condo from Andrew Tan’s Megaworld.
Dennis Uy’s Phoenix Petroleum will also be giving Diaz free fuel for life. This, in addition to the P5-Million pesos that he’ll be gifting Diaz.
Diaz is also expecting to receive a house and lot worth P4 million. Andrew Tan’s Megaworld is also giving out a free P14 million condo for the athlete.
Hidilyn will also be having travel around the world during her lifetime! Airasia has announced that the company will be awarding Diaz “80,000 free miles per year, for life.”
The gold medalist last placed on the podium in 2016 after bagging the silver in the Rio Olympics. This time, Diaz is holding the top spot around the world!
With all these achievements and pride that she had brought home, no incentive can definitely level with her legacy!
