Internet Outage Puts Reddit, Vimeo, News Websites Down

An internet outage affected several major websites such as Vimeo, Reddit, Quora, and other news websites across the globe.

Twitter users observed the mass outage online on Tuesday night.

Major news organizations, such as BBC, CNN, New York Times, VICE, The Guardian and The Evening Standard reported that their sites were affected.

The Guardian tweeted that their “website and app are currently being affected by a wider internet outage and will be back as soon as possible.”

Similarly, Twitch and 9Now were affected by the major outage.

Data Center provider Fastly crashed earlier this morning which caused the widespread web outage.

As a result, many websites are presently showing a ‘503 error’ and will not load.

Others struggle to load photos or are exceedingly sluggish.
