Harry Lu was Bashed for Lack of Vietnamese Culture Knowledge

Recently, actor Harry Lu made fans extremely angry with an interview with the Taiwanese media in a propaganda event. In this interview, Harry Lu was criticized for making false statements about the Matriarchy, wrong knowledge of history and country, even being asked by the public to apologize and correct information.

Specifically, when asked about Mother’s Day plans, Harry Lu replied as follows: “In Vietnam, basically, I will also take my mother to eat, then give flowers. Joining is customary, because Vietnam is a matriarchal country, so any holiday related to women, people respect and give flowers. Not only that, but Harry also emphasized a sentence: “If you don’t give flowers, something big will happen. Giving flowers is very important.” In addition, when asked by a reporter, “What will happen?”, Harry Lu replied: “I can not say it, everyone has their own way of handling”.

Immediately after the article was posted and shared on the actor’s own fanpage, a large number of Vietnamese viewers commented because of their anger at Harry Lu’s false statements, asking him to correct the information. Many people strongly believe that it is because of these false statements by Harry Lu that the Vietnamese community, especially the brides in Taiwan, are misunderstood and disadvantaged. Some people even think that Harry Lu doesn’t really have basic knowledge about Vietnamese culture.

After the article was posted and under a lot of pressure from the public, Harry Lu sent a comment apologizing and explaining: “Hello everyone, actually the statement yesterday was wrong, I meant to say I am a Vietnamese who attaches great importance to holidays related to women and I like this very much. I also hope everyone gives my mother a bouquet of flowers or a gift. Anyway, thanks for your advice.”

However, there are still comments that the actor needs to have a correction in front of the Taiwanese media because of this disastrous misunderstanding.
