W33 is the Weak Link? Team Nigma Sweeps Team Secret With W33 on Bench

Nigma without w33 seems to be an upgraded version of the team!

Team Nigma kicked off their Dota Pro Circuit Season 2 campaign with a bang after it swept the powerhouse and EU’s top 1 Team Secret with its w33-less roster in a 2-0 fashion.

Igor “iLTW” Filatov appeared to have rekindled the team’s fire as it took over Miracle’s carry role which had put the star back to his midlane, lane he’s most experienced with.

Unorthodox Miracle showed that he remains to be one of the best midlaners after he dominated his lane with a Sand King where he casted his genius quickly getting his dagger 8-minutes in which dominated Team Secret in early clashes.

MinD_ControL’s comeback appeared to have been impactful as well after the experienced support player combined with Miracle in one of the where MC pulled off a four-man vacuum partnered with Miracle’s Burrowstrike striking a clean 4-man wipe of Team Secret which led to the team’s easy game 2.

The game finished in 27 minutes which secured Nigma a sweep versus the Puppey-led Team Secret after Miracle’s 10-kills, and 16-assists, with only 1-death finishing a team-kill score of 31-9.

While Miracle shined in game 2, the new addition iLTW showed what he had for the team after his Juggernaut carried the team in a crucial 43-minute game.

The most crucial part of the game was cleared by iLTW after he survived a gank from Team Secret, at least with the help of GH’s Tuskar who kept Juggernaut inside his snowball which turned around the teamfight, giving Nigma the upper hand and secure the Rosh.

Game 1 ended with 12-kills, 13-assists, and 1-death from iLTW spiced up with Miracle’s double-digit stats.

“Our favorite style is what you just saw. It has really just been our [signature] playstyle, we want to smash our opponents and destroy them as fast as possible,” Kuroky told in a post-game interview which expressed that their old roster seemed to have a problem.

“[iLTW] is bringing us some fresh ideas, mainly about heroes he wants to play and what he wants to do. It’s always about finding a middle ground, I’m getting inspired by him and he takes inspiration from us. The goal is to just bring it all together.” he added, implying as if w33 never had those in his arsenal.

In the team’s performance, it appears that w33 may actually have had a negative impact on the team as shown in their previous performances, more specifically in the recent Singapore Major where they finished last.
