Playing for more than one team gives you more chances of winning… not unless you get caught, of course.

Team D Disqualified: vtfaded and In your dream Team D is disqualified from 2nd qualifiers due to transfer deadline violations | The SportsRush

Team D has been on top of Dota 2 news after the squad got disqualified in DPC qualifiers following smurfing controversies with their carry vtFaded.

The team’s support Remus “Ponlo” Ji Xiang _ that they are actually facing disqualification from the Dota Pro Circuit qualifiers after the team failed to convey that they will be playing with Chen “vtFaded” Ji Hao who was already playing in the second division.

Ponlo claims that their situation was caused by a misunderstanding between the team and the organizers, citing that the rules were ‘vague’ which caused confusion and misinterpretation.

“Our team and vtFaded were not aware of this supposed lock on 6th April that players were not able to leave their teams anymore. According to the rules stated, the wording of the sentence made us believe that a player can leave after 6th April, but a team cannot remove a player,” Ponlo told in a tweet.

He also added that the reason why the team included vtFaded in the roster was because of the latter’s ties with team Mystery, the player’s team competing in the second division, was already being nullified.

Saying that vtFaded was still confused if he was still tied with team Mystery, the player decided to play with Team D using a smurf account, a decision claimed to be approved by the organizers according to Ponlo.

“Yesterday PGL admin brought up whether we were using vtFaded as a smurf, in which we replied yes, he just didn’t want to use his main, and asked if there was a problem? Since there have been TONNES of smurfs in qualifiers. PGL admin said no problem,” the player continued on his Twitter thread.

It appears that following the violation, Team D is now set to face disqualification from the qualifiers, with vtFaded facing a ban from competitions until after TI10.

According to BenQ, head admin of PGL for SEA Qualifiers, PGL’s decision to ban vtFaded was because he was playing for two teams, not because of him using smurfs.

BenQ’s reply follows with Ponlo’s allegations that PGL is being biased as it was not banning other players using smurfs.

As of this moment, Ponlo’s team has filed a review on their situation, the letter of which was uploaded by Ponlo on his Twitter.
