Indonesian organization Bonafide Esports finally figured the perpetrator who committed a disgusting act by using a cheat in one of the internal offline competitions.

The cheating case was immediately known by the management of PUBG Mobile, and they certainly did not remain silent. Immediate action was carried out for a thorough investigation in order to reveal who the culprit was.

Until finally on Wednesday (April 7), through the official Instagram account of PUBG Mobile, it posted a notice that it was a former Bonafide Esports player, “BFDRewind”, who used a wall-hack cheat in the offline tournament.

A TikTok account revealed a video showing the use of a “Wall Hack” cheat to be able to freely penetrate buildings. Even though the use of this cheat is indeed carried out in unofficial competitions, PUBG Mobile still gives harsh sanctions to BFD Rewind. PUBG removed the title of professional player from BFDRewind and gave him a permanent ban from all official PUBG Mobile tournaments.

The Bonafide E Sports team, who knew about this, immediately gave their response and at the same time clarified the mention of Bonafide’s name in the official name used by BFDRewind. The use of the name “BFD” which stands for Bonafide on the player’s IGN also occurs because the organization has indeed freed every member of its community to use it.

However, the Bonafide side clarified that Rewind was not an official player of the organization, but only part of their community. Bonafide emphasized that the PUBG Mobile Bonafide division only contains eight players. Five of them are Ucup, Hans4you, Botz, Licinnnn, and Noox who are currently participating in PMPL ID. While the other three players are inactive, namely Storyboy, Cupaw, and Hans.

Apart from not being a member of Bonafide, they also explained that the contract between BFDRewind and Bonafide had effectively ended since January 11, 2021 after the person concerned had officially bid farewell. For this, Bonafide also directly apologized to all those who had been harmed and admitted that they would be even more stringent in terms of using the name of the organization to all members of the community who wanted to use it.

Both PUBG Mobile and Bonafide both strongly criticized things like this. As part of the Indonesian esports community, one can certainly hope that incidents like this will not happen again. Hopefully the sanctions given by PUBG Mobile are enough to deter and open the eyes of other cheating players.
