Chinese Dota Facing Low Number Of High-Rank Players

The number of high-rank Dota players in the Chinese region are facing a downward trend, with many worried of its implication. However, there is an explanation to it.

Dota players has been worried about the recent numbers of high-rank player lately. In some servers, the numbers were steadily going down, and the server matchmaking became worse by days.

One example would be the high-rank Dota players in the Chinese server, which now numbers only at around 1400 players.

The numbers were found by taking a look at Dota official leaderboard ranking. Latest numbers shows Ranked Immortal players in China server were only up to 1400 players, and counting down.

Although the number was seen to be low, there were some theories regarding the current situation.

Turns out many of the Chinese players were seen to be moving to SEA server for some reason. It seemed the high-rank games in the Chinese server were not up to standard in the recent times.

Therefore, many of the aspiring professional players on the region opt to play in SEA server.

Although many thought it was isolated to Chinese server, this situation had been happening to other servers as well. One example would be the EEU players starting to play on the WEU server. Ever since the recent war between Ukraine and Russia, many of the players felt WEU server was more stable.

However, all of these were still conjectures by the players, with no official reason being given as of now.
