A few days after getting nerfed, Marci got nerfed again! Icefrog isn’t satisfied with the previous nerf.
Citing a Reddit thread on Tuesday (02/11), it looks like Marci is getting nerfed again at greater proportions. Some Dota players already thought that with the previous nerf, Marci is quite balanced. However, it seemed that Icefrog and the majority of the other players didn’t agree with that. Moreover, Marci’s pick rate is at 74% after the initial nerf, almost 10x when compared to the average of other heroes!
However, it seems that the nerf this time hits Marci’s hero pickers quite hard. When this article was published, Marci’s win rate decreased quite dramatically from 53% to 47%, according to Dotabuff. Marci herself is a fairly complex hero and requires a pretty good game-sense when playing. However, these requirements are not very visible because of the large numbers of Marci’s skills. With this nerf, it seems that Marci’s players need to be more attentive and take into account the burst damage they can do during team fights.
The changes that Marci experienced were the damage and stun duration of Dispose which decreased at the early levels. Her cooldowns for Rebound and Unleash are also nerfed. Sidekick seemed to be safe at first, but upon closer look, the talent that gives spell immunity to the skill is now at Level 25. The +% Lifesteal talent that was at level 25 is now at Level 20 with the number reduced by +25%.
