Team Secret gets back into the winning track after taking down Detonation FocusMe with a 2-0 sweep in its week 5 assignment in the VALORANT: Champions Tour Pacific League.

After absorbing twin losses in Weeks 4 and 5 at the hands of Gen. G Esports and RRQ, the all Filipino crew finally rediscovered their touch with Jayvee “Dubstep” Paguirigan leading the charge in the two-game sweep in Ascent and Haven.

Dubstep outplayed fellow Jett main Park “Seoldam” Sang-min as they went on a showdown in Game 1 using their signature picks. Dubstep though came out on top with a 28-15-4 line against Seoldam’s 21-21-3. Team Secret also had the last laugh drawing the first blood in the series with a tight 13-11 win.

Riding the momentum of the first game win, Team Secret showed no letup in the second map as it came out guns blazing in the first half of the contest taking a 9-3 start. The Filipinos picked up the victory from there closing out the series with an 13-8 victory to improve their record to 3-2 good for the fifth spot of the standings.

“Maybe during week 3 and week 4, we didn’t play the way we normally do because we adjusted to our opponent’s playstyle. We knew we were strong, so there was nothing new, we just went back to our usual ways,” said Adrian “Invy” Reyes regarding the team’s huge bounce back win.

Team Secret, whose hopes of making it to the playoffs are still alive, will be up against another Japanese team, ZETA Division, next week. This will be followed by matches against T1, DRX, and Global Esports in the subsequent weeks.
