The players of Myanmar’s best Mobile Legends team Burmese Ghouls are now free agents.
Over the weekend, the organization revealed that all of its members and head coach had resigned, thereby ending one of the most prestigious and well-respected MLBB teams in MPL MM and the globe.
“As the organization struggles through this period, we have decided to part ways with our Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team,” their post read.
The organization said that their decision was due to the continuing military coup in their country.
ACE, KID, RubyDD, Maybe, Dee, and their coach PVNDV will no longer be part of the team. Meanwhile, ICEICE will stay and continue to oversee the organization’s activities.
The Burmese Ghouls took a stand against their government on February at the height of the military takeover. They also announced on their Facebook page that they will not be participating in any competition as they don’t want to represent a country governed by the military.
“… [T]he only government we voted for is the only stable government and the military authority (…) We would like to say that we won’t participate in any competitions that are involved in military operations. And also other competitions won’t compete with those teams that are supported by military authority.”
The team’s government in Myanmar is currently facing a military coup which shocked the world. Netizens from the country raised several alarms, especially potential blocking of their social media freedom.
