EVOS Zeys Wants to be Coach of SEA Games ID team

Evos Zeys, head coach of Indonesian team EVOS, wants to help the Indonesian team in the SEA Games 2021 esports category.

Earlier this week, Zeys had the opportunity answering netizens’ questions in Jonathan Liandi’s EmpeTalk podcast. This Singaporean coach answered all the questions carefully, especially when it came to things that happened at MPL ID S7.

Jonathan also asked Zeys the rumors about his participation in the upcoming SEA Games 2021. Without hesitation, he answered that he really wanted to be the Indonesian team’s coach if he was allowed to. He also explained that he had no problem being the coach of a team that isn’t from his home country.

“If you want to send the best team, it’s probably (the players) majority from EVOS. Same thing happened, right? (In) 2019, they sent EVOS and ONIC (players), but the coach they chose was not from EVOS. For me, like, that was an insult, lah,” answered Zeys with his Singlish accent.

“For me, it’s not problem (if I train the Indonesian team for the SEA Games). Because, the most important thing is I wanna give my team a good chance,” continued Zeys.

Not limiting the players

Zeys also doesn’t limit all players should be from EVOS Legends. He felt that it will be better for Indonesia to choose one full team from the MPL tournament. Not to mention the possibility of a break from MPL ID Season 8 to SEA Games 2021, which is around one to two months. It’s quite difficult players since they have to build a new chemistry in a short time.

Bjorn ‘Zeys’ Ong added that his desire to become the Indonesian national team’s coach doesn’t mean he will give up his Singapore pride. However, he just really wanted to show his best team in the Mobile Legends division.

Hopefully Esports Indonesia will answer Zeys’ enthusiasm.
