Things are heating up in the Chinese League of Legends esports scene.

Prominent Chinese organization EDward Gaming is reportedly suing its former Lee “Scout” Ye-chan for breach of contract.

The news was leaked in multiple Chinese forums.

The exact lawsuit remains unknown, but reports say it has something to do with Scout’s contract last year.

Even though he was still contracted to EDG at the time, it was revealed in December that the owner had claimed Scout had secured a deal with an LCK team following Worlds 2021.

The organization reportedly increased the pay of the lineup, including Scout’s, in an effort to retain the Worlds-winning lineup for an additional year.

Scout apparently went to South Korea in search of a new squad but was unable to find one that would pay him more than EDG, so he returned to China and the team he won the World Championship with.

Scout left EDG in December of last year after a six-and-a-half-year stay and joined LNG Esports, a Chinese team.
