Canadian mid laner Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao bid farewell to the Dota 2 community last Monday.

The 31-year-old former Cloud9 star made the announcement via Twitter.

“Retiring from everything DotA related. Thank you DotA and peace out. Next stream will be my last,” revealed EternaLEnVy.

EternaLEnVy last played professionally as a stand-in for 4 Zoomers in the BTS Pro Series Season 7: Americas.

Meanwhile, his last stint in the Dota Pro Circuit was back in the 2021 season where he played as carry for Black N Yellow in the North America Upper Division.

EternaLEnVy, who has been playing Dota 2 ever since 2012, will be retiring with five The International appearances under his belt.

The veteran Dota 2 player has been streaming for quite a while but later on felt that it was not ‘for him.’ EternaLEnVy also revealed that he found something else to pour his time and effort into but has yet to reveal what his new venture is.

“Streaming isn’t for me. I don’t like talking about past events, reacting, or talking to my stream. Playing for fun isn’t for me either. I will always pursue things as a straight arrow. I’ve found something else to chase whole heartedly.”
