EG Forfeits ESL Malaysia Due To “Family Issues”

EG will be forfeiting the ESL Malaysia Closed Qualifier due to family reasons, in addition to the approaching Arlington Major.

As a result of the nearing Major date and some personal reasons, EG will be skipping ESL Malaysia qualifiers. This comes from EG’s captain himself, Fly, in a series of tweet announcing their withdrawal.

Therefore, they will be focusing on the upcoming Arlington Major instead of participating in the tournament’s qualifier.

In the series of tweets, Fly explained the reason of their withdrawal from the tournament. He reasoned that he would only attend halfway if they manage to qualify. Furthermore, he considered the tournament to be too soon after the major.

His next series of tweets involve apologies to both the tournament and the fans.

However, he also mentioned that ESL was understanding and accomodating of their decision to not participate. Although Cr1t previously had some grievances towards the organizer, there seems to be no bad blood between the organizations.

Hence, their participation would be replaced by other team from the region.

It seems the team replacing EG will be headed by the TI5 captain winning player, PPD. However, their recent matches shows no promise as they went on a losing streak at the moment.

Looking at the qualifier, it will be a lock between TSM or Quincy Crew for the Malaysian tournament.
