Xtreme Gaming Forfeits Major Due to Visa Problem

Xtreme Gaming forfeited their Major slot in Arlington due to the visa problem of their carry. They’re now focusing on TI Qualifiers.

Another bad news came from Arlington Major as Xtreme Gaming forfeited their spot. They announced that their forfeiture is due to one of their players failing their visa application.

Instead, Xtreme Gaming will focus on the upcoming TI Qualifier in DPC China, which can be quite fierce.

Xtreme Gaming explained its woes on the Chinese social media, Weibo. They explained that their carry, Lou, had failed three visa meeting, which in turn made him unable to attend the major.

Deciding that their chances are slim, they decided to focus on the upcoming TI Qualifier instead.

PGL Esports also officially announced the withdrawal from their Twitter. Surprisingly, they also mentioned that no other team would take Xtreme’s team slot.

Although there were various other teams that would be willing to take the slot, it seems PGL is wary about further visa issues. Inviting other NA team such as TSM seems to be not an option, since there might be a policy forbidding them.

With that, there will be only 8 teams in the Group B of Arlington Major. Consequently, the number of matches will also be reduced, and there will only be two teams that will be eliminated from the group stage.

Fans are hoping that there will be no more disruption to the major, as now it is getting quite concerning with all of the visa problems and stand-ins.
