NXP EVOS is starting to shine!
NXP EVOS has been one of the biggest MLBB teams in the country. However, despite having a huge fandom, the team has yet to grab a title to prove their place.
Up to this moment, the team honed by Akosi Dogie remains under development. Although, some of its efforts are already starting to pay off.
Recently, the squad was directly invited for the SIBOL qualifiers. Alongside fellow MPL teams, NXP EVOS fought for glory, reaching up to the finals of the qualifiers.
In the finals, the team was faced by the strongest Filipino MLBB team, Blacklist International. Despite having some huge setbacks, including a medical emergency, NXP EVOS still impressed fans, and other players.
Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna, Blacklist’s reigning queen, and team captain, gave credit to NXP EVOS.
According to the support specialist, he was surprised by Nexplay EVOS’ performance.
“Actually, the series was very hard because of how much Nexplay EVOS has improved and their drive to represent in the SEA Games,” told OhMyV33nus.
Both teams first met in the upper bracket of the SIBOL qualifiers. However, due to H2wo’s medical emergency, the team came in late for their initial schedule.
Due to the delay, the organizers decided to penalize the squad, and favor Blacklist with a win. Following the default defeat, the team was no longer able to recover.
NXP EVOS managed to climb back to the finals after taking down Omega Esports, ONIC PH, and RSG PH.
NXP EVOS Impresses Blacklist International’s Analyst
For their rematch, the squad managed to take a win. However, their drive for revenge was not enough to take down the M3 champs.
Despite losing, the team still impressed fans, including Blacklist’s analyst.
“Their three rookies, Ureshii, Donut, and Cadenza, don’t play like they are still amateurs,” the analyst stated.
This time, the team will now be preparing their squad for the upcoming MPL Philippines. With their performance, it will no longer be a shocker if the squad will ba able to reach a higher placement in the playoffs.
