The Axie Infinity creator continues to face challenges.

Axie Infinity creator and developer Mavis Hub announced on Thursday, August 26, that players are encouraged to follow their respective laws.

Ahead of the announcement, the game’s biggest community, Philippines, faced posing issues with their supposed taxes.

“Play-to-earn is an important shift in the nature of work; we look forward to working with physical nations (governments) on a path forward that encourages innovation and empowers gamers.” Jihoz told on Discord.

In addition, Jihoz also mentioned that they’re looking forward to working with governments in considering the game as a work.

“Play-to-earn is an important shift in the nature of work. We look forward to working with physical nations (governments) on a path forward that encourages innovation and empowers gamers,” he told.

Jihoz also told the community to be faithful with their respective country’s laws.

“Sky Mavis encourages Axie community members to abide by the laws of their home countries,” the announcement read.

Axie infinity continues to blossom in different countries, especially in the Philippines.

The country’s Department of Finance and Bureau of Internal Revenue, later on, flagged the community for not paying taxes.

DOF and BIR warned the public, saying that they are already working on investigating the possible taxation of players.

“[Axie] is not registered in the Philippines. That is one of the things that we hopefully capture once we have that system of registration for non-residents. It’s not in the Philippines, but certainly, whoever earns currency from it, you should report it,” a chief from the Department of Finance told.
