Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno tipped his hat to long-time rival Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol following ECHO’s semifinals loss to ONIC Esports in the 2023 MSC at the Aeon Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
ECHO, the reigning world champions, was the heavy favorites to win the mid-season international tournament but was shocked by ONIC Esports, 0-3, in the semifinals which relegated them to the battle for third place.
The almost slid down completely after getting pushed by Burn X Flash to the edge but managed to comeback and salvage a bronze finish in the five-game series.
KarlTzy said that Kairi is still strong but he said that the main factor why ONIC Esports is currently on a tear ever since the MPL Indonesia Season 11 is because Kairi’s teammates finally stepped up to help their jungler.

“Lakas niya. Wala namang nag-bago, yun lang talagang nag-step up din yung mga kasama niya,” said the former Bren Esports jungler.
The two-time M-series winner also admitted that ONIC Esports was the better team in the series.
“Siguro ano lang po, parang kaninang laban mas confident sila gumalaw sa amin tapos siguro ano mas gutom lang sila manalo kesa sa amin sa laban na yun.”
ONIC Esports is gunning for its second MSC title when they go up against Filipino squad Blacklist International in the grand finals later in the day.
