SEA Dota 2 legend Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung made a surprise appearance for BOOM Esports and led the team to one of the biggest upsets in the third and final tour of the Dota Pro Circuit Division I.

With offlaner Saieful “Fbz” Ilham out for the match, coach Mushi gladly stepped in and led BOOM Esports’ 2-1 win over Talon Esports last Wednesday.

Talon Esports got the upper hand early in the series after taking a quick 30-minute win in Game 1 but Mushi and his wards made sure to bounce back in the next two games to claim the win.

He delivered five kills and 12 assists against two deaths on Pangolier in the 28-14 Game 2 win before finishing off the series with a 1-29 line on Medusa in the 16-9 Game 3 win.

Mushi, acknowledging his diminished mechanical prowess, attributed the team’s victory against Talon Esports to his emphasis on improving communication.

“I think with me stepping in – what can I do? I am an old man, my hand is even shaking when I’m playing (smiles). The kind of thing I can do for the team is about my communication only,” said Mushi.

BOOM Esports is currently tied with Army Geniuses at the fifth spot with a 2-4 standing.

The team must win their final game against Team SMG to completely avoid relegation.
