Together Forever: Why MinD_ContRoL Will Never Abandon Kuroky

Despite Nigma Galaxy’s struggles over the past two years, do not expect Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov to leave the team anytime soon.

In an interview with Foggy Analytics, the veteran offlaner revealed the main reason why he has decided to stick with the sinking Dota 2 team.

MinD_ContRoL shared that the bond he has formed with team captain Kuro “Kuroky” Takhasomi is so strong that he does not mind whether they are winning or losing. 

According to him, being with Kuroky is already a win considering the countless of lessons that he has taught him both in Dota and in life.

“There’s no way I am going to leave him [Kuroky]. It does not matter if we are losing or anything like this. We are also winning,” said MinD_ContRoL.

“For me, he’s the best person ever. He did a lot for me. That’s what is holding us. He did a lot for me, we won together, and we lost together. We keep going. We are strong and no giving up,” he continued.

MinD_ContRoL and Kuroky first teamed up back in 2015 when the latter tapped the former to join his team 5Jungz.

The team was eventually signed by Team Liquid in the same year. It was in 2017 where they scored their biggest breakthrough, winning The International 7 together alongside Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen, Amer Al-Barkawi, and Maroun “GH” Merhej.

The Bulgarian Dota 2 star revealed that there were times in the past that he wanted to leave the team and start fresh. But in the end, his bond with Kuroky prevailed.

“I had years, some of the years I was thinking to leave and try new opportunities, try a new team. But I’m always amazed at how good Kuro is as a player and his personality,” said MinD_ContRoL.

“He teaches me so many things. He teaches me about the game, he teaches me about life things. He did so many things for me. I just feel like he’s a brother to me. I really feel like he’s a brother to me.”
