Paper Rex showed impressive resilience to claim the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Pacific League championship at the Jangchung Arena on Sunday night.

The squad based from Indonesia clawed back from a 0-2 deficit to fend off DRX, 3-2, in the grand finals and become the first-ever champion of the VCT Pacific League.

“It really feels amazing because we finally beat the Kings of Pacific themselves [DRX],” said Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto just moments after the grand finals  “Now, we are the Kings of Pacific.”

DRX started the series strong, nabbing a dominant 13-6 Game One win at Fracture before escaping a tight Game Two win via a 16-14 triumph at Ascent to take a quick 2-0 series lead.

Things, however, started to change when Paper Rex broke a 2-all deadlock in Game Three and went on a blistering 11-1 run to take Game Three via a lopsided 13-3 win at Lotus.

Carrying their momentum from the third game, the Indonesians went on to take Game Four (Pearl), 13-8, before completing the massive reverse sweep in Game Five (Bind), 13-6.
