Beastcoast’s K1 Likely Out For Rest Of Season To Focus on Mental Health

Beastcoast will be playing without carry Héctor “K1” Rodríguez for the rest of the Dota Pro Circuit South America Tour 3: Division I.

Last Thursday, beastcoast in a statement, revealed that K1 will take a temporary mental health break and focus on his well-being.

K1 and beastcoast has been playing non-stop this year, participating in all three tours of the Dota Pro Circuit South America while also suiting up in the Lima Major, Berlin Major, BTS Pro Series Season 14: Americas, and the DreamLeague Season 19.

The organization said that they fully support K1’s decision and will give him all the necessary help in his battle with depression.

“Hector will be taking a temporary mental health break to prioritize his well-being. We fully support Hector’s decision and will provide him with the necessary support during this challenging time,” said beastcoast in a statement.

Set to stand-in for beastcoast is David “Parker” Flores of Ravens.

“During Hector’s absence, Parker will serve as our stand-in player for the rest of the season,” beastcoast announced.

The 22-year-old Peruvian Dota 2 star is the second player to take a break to focus on mental health.

Taiga Reveals Fight With Depression as OG Nears Disqualification

A few days ago, OG soft support Tommy “Taiga” Le announced that he is undergoing therapy due to anxiety and depression. Taiga has yet to suit up for OG in the third and final tour of the Western Europe DPC.

Beastcoast, who topped the past two tours of DPC SA, is currently at second place with a 4-1 win-loss standing.
