BTK has been disqualified from the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 despite their victory over Outplay in the NACT 2023 Spring Grand Final, which had secured their MSC slot.
The MSC Committee announced that BTK failed to meet the basic tournament requirements outlined in the rules.
These requirements include maintaining a minimum roster of seven members, including a coach, five players, and one substitute throughout the event.
Additionally, players’ rosters were expected to remain unchanged from the team that qualified through MPL or other local qualifications.
BTK encountered issues when one player lacked a valid passport, and another player’s legal guardian did not grant consent.
Efforts to resolve these issues proved unsuccessful before the deadline for visa applications and travel arrangements.
Consequently, Outplay, the NACT runner-up, has been granted the MSC qualification and will represent NACT in MSC 2023.
The MSC Committee expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and emphasized the importance of upholding fair competition.
BTK members will have priority participation in the IESF competition, with further details to be announced by IESF.
