SumaiL Reveals How He Communicates With Team Aster in Berlin Major

Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan was an odd stand-in choice for Team Aster as the team’s communication will definitely take a hit due to language barrier.

However, SumaiL and the rest of his Chinese teammates proved otherwise as they yielded positive results so far in the ESL One Berlin Major 2023.

Team Aster managed to qualify to the playoffs after clinching the fifth seed in Group A with a 2-4-2 win-draw-loss standing which is good enough for the lower bracket.

When asked how he communicates with his teammates, the Dota 2 superstar revealed that he has been using the chat wheel to deliver his commands.

“I say Jia You then we have to go in, and then I use “Get Back” on the chat wheel, and then we have to get back. And when I mistake, I use “Sorry” on the chat wheel,” shared SumaiL in a post-game interview.

SumaiL also said that communicating with the team about objectives was surprisingly easy. However, the same cannot be said about team fights and other crucial parts of the game.

“We’re 90% confident, let’s see what happens. I think the bigger parts of the game, objective calls have been really simple. But clutch moments, such as team fighting or spellcasting and stuff have been a little difficult.” said the former Evil Geniuses star.

“Yeah, you just gotta use the Dota knowledge to actually decide how to team fight without saying much because, in team fights, there is so much to be said,” SumaiL added.
