Puppey Believes Armel Can Help Team Secret Turn Things Around

Team Secret team captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov had nothing but good words for Filipino mid laner Armel “Armel” Tabios following the team’s 2-0 start in the Dota Pro Circuit Western Europe 2023 Tour 2: Division II.

Puppey said that Armel, along with fellow newcomer Daniyal “yamich” Lazebnyy, can help Team Secret get back on track following a disappointing stint in Tour 1 that saw them drop out of the league’s Division I.

“There were other options but at the end of the day, I chose people who are skilled enough and young enough to be motivated to win tournaments. I think Armel is one of them, Yamich is one of them,” said Puppey during a post-game interview.

The former The International champion said that after seeing the team’s performance in Tour 1, he knew right away that Team Secret needed to retool in order to have a shot at turning things around.

Team Secret released offlaner Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok and soft support Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov to make space for Armel and Yamich. The Filipino Dota 2 star was left without a team after Fnatic decided to disband its roster while Yamich last played for Virtus.pro.

“After going into Division II, I felt like the team is not really capable of bringing themselves back – the previous one,” said Puppey.

“So I decided that we are in kind of a full disband mode in a way and you know there are some people in Dota who are really good at Dota like Armel whose team disbanded and shit like that,” he added.

Team Secret swept Alliance, 2-0, to open its campaign in Division II before scoring another quick win over Into The Breach, 2-0, to move up to the standings.
