Abed to sit out at DreamLeague S19 due to visa issues

Dota 2 powerhouse Shopify Rebellion might have to compete in Dream League Season 19 without Abed, one of its seasoned players.

The team’s head coach, BuLba, recently tweeted that the 22-year-old player, Abed, would not be able to participate due to visa issues.

As a result, the team will use Mikey, a 17-year-old Iranian player, as a stand-in for Abed in the upcoming tournament.

The tournament is set to take place from April 9 to 23 and is crucial for all qualified and invited teams, as the winner will take home the lion’s share of the US$1 million prize pool.

Additionally, the winning team will secure a slot for the upcoming Riyadh Masters later this year, which boasts a staggering US$15 million prize pool.

Unfortunately, Abed’s absence will be a significant setback for Shopify Rebellion since he is one of the team’s key players.

There is still no word yet on whether Abed will appear later on or sit out the entirety of the tournament.

Nonetheless, the team is grateful to have Mikey step in as a last-minute replacement.
