League leaders Bren Esports suffered a setback in their recent match against TNC, bringing an end to their nine-game winning streak.

The match, which many thought would be an easy win for Bren Esports, proved to be a tough battle as TNC emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

Head coach Francis “Duckeyy” Glindro acknowledged the loss as a necessary wake-up call for his team as they head towards the playoffs.

“Yung series namin versus TNC was a very humbling experience kasi kahit sino naman na win streak for a long time you feel invulnerable, di ka matatalo. Well it goes to show na kaya kami talunin ng kahit sinong teams sa MPL,” he said.

Despite the loss, Bren Esports was quick to recover and bounced back the following week, with a convincing 2-0 win over playoff-seeking RSG Slate Philippines.

Bren Esports dominated RSG with a commanding 12-5 win in Game 1, followed by an almost flawless performance in Game 2 with a 15-1 tally, securing the sweep.

Coach Duckeyy was pleased with how his young players responded to the defeat, saying, “It was a very humbling experience ‘yung mga bata was like, ‘hindi, babawi kami coach’ so I was just happy that they made good with their word.”

This defeat served as a reminder for Bren Esports that no team is invincible in the league, especially with the last three world champions hailing from the same league. However, with the team’s resilience and determination, they remain a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming playoffs.
