Malaysia might be the venue for the upcoming PUBG Global Series 1 championship in March or April of this year, marking the first time a major PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS tournament will take place in the country.
Although no official statement has been released by the game’s developers, unconfirmed tweets from industry journalists such as ESL Mobile journalist Patryk and Hesketh2, Liquidpedia editor, have reported on this possibility.
The PUBG Global Series 2023 Phase 1 is the inaugural major tournament of the competitive season, with invitations to participate extended to the top 24 teams from the Phase 1 leagues.
Among the four international LAN events scheduled for this season, including PUBG Nations Cup 2023 and PUBG Global Championship 2023, the championship in Malaysia is expected to be a significant milestone for the country’s esports industry.
Regional online competitions are also slated to take place between the LAN events, and this tournament will be the final one prior to the implementation of the new 2023 SUPER Regulations.
