Riot Games is reportedly testing a new game mode for League of Legends called Quick Play, which is designed to make it quicker for players to get into the game.
This mode will replace the long-standing Blind Pick mode in certain regions during a limited-time test run.
Quick Play allows players to select their role and champion combinations before queuing up for a match, so they can bypass champion select entirely and start loading into a game immediately.
The new game mode allows players to avoid the potentially negative experiences that can occur during champion selection, such as being criticized for choosing an off-meta pick or a champion that doesn’t fit the team’s composition.
It’s an ideal way for players to try out new roles and champions without going through the usual selection process.
The new game mode is expected to roll out to multiple regions throughout the year, allowing players to enjoy a faster and smoother experience on the Rift.
