MPL Philippines clarified that there was no bug in the controversial end game between Blacklist International and TNC Pro Team last weekend.

The sequence happened in the waning moments of Game 2 where TNC’s Innocent tried to go for a base push at the bottom lane but was stopped by Edward on his Arlott.

The champion EXP laner shoved the minions away from the radius of the base expecting that the base will no longer take damage from the basic attack from Innocent’s Moskov but instead the TNC gold laner almost succeeded in taking down the Blacklist’s base. Edward then later on expressed his confusion regarding the play during Blacklist’s press conference.

“Ang weird nga eh kasi winalis ko yung minions pero nababawasan pa rin ‘yung tore namin supposedly walang damage yun kasi walang minion na nakapasok sa radius ng tore ewan ko kung bakit,” said Edward after the game.

MPL PH on the other hand released a statement regarding the play and clarified that the no damage mechanic of the tower when no enemy minions are within the radius of the tower.

“The backdoor protection trigger has always been activated three seconds after a minion is within the base tower’s radius. It is not instantaneous,” MPL said in a statement.

“When Edward pushed the minions away from the base tower, it really did take three (3) seconds for protection to activate. It appeared to be that the cause of protection activation was due to the last minion dying, but this was merely a coincidence. The last minion died 3 seconds apart from when Edward first pushed them off,” it explained.
