Professional League of Legends player Nicholas Antonio “Ablazeolive” Abbott has announced his retirement from competitive play.

“I have decided to retire from competitive League of Legends.

The reason for retiring is that I have realized there are important aspects of my life that have been stunted due to my professional career and it is important for me to not push them aside any longer,” Abbott wrote on Twitter.

The 25-year-old gamer expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support throughout his eight-year career, saying, “I want to thank all my fans for supporting me these last 8 years but this chapter of my life is now over and the next step is beginning.”

Abbott plans to continue streaming and may also do co-streaming LCS or other leagues.

Regarding his future plans, Abbott mentioned that he is considering coaching, casting, playtesting, streaming, or school, but is also open to new opportunities that may arise.

Abbott also took the time to express his appreciation for his former team, IMT, and all those who have been a part of his journey.

“I want to thank IMT staff for helping me through this difficult period of time and also for all the good memories that we had together,” he said. “I want to thank all my teammates, coaches, managers, and team staff past and present for making these last 8 years a dream come true.”
