Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, former OpTic Gaming player, has officially joined the Sentinels Valorant team as its sixth man.
The 23-year-old, who has been a free agent since late last year, is filling the spot left by Hunter “SicK” Mims, suspended indefinitely after his arrest on trespassing charges.
Despite being unsuccessful in finding a spot on a partnered team for the 2023 season, Marved revealed that Cloud9 was interested in him, but he ultimately declined.
He also stated that Sentinels offered him the most money for the role, leading to accusations of “bag chasing.”
However, Marved explained that he is willing to play matches if the team needs him and is excited about playing with Sentinels.
“At least I have a chance to play, maybe, if I want to,” he said.
VCT Americas will begin on April 1.
