Bren Esports dominated the first half of the MPL Philippines Season 11 regular season after scoring six consecutive victories all via sweep.
Team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel was a pivotal part in the team’s 6-1 start as he continues to prove his doubters wrong by stepping up in the middle lane.
Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro said that Pheww’s work ethic is one of the main reasons why he remains one of the top mid laners in the MPL Philippines scene.

“I think the most impressive part of his character is his work ethic, really. There are some players you would consider as prodigies, some are really talented in this game. Kaya niyang tapatan ‘yon and with just pure work ethic,” said Duckey.
“Parang sa idea siguro neto e, find the most talented individual, outwork him. Parang ganoon yung idea niya eh. So I think it’s paying dividends right now,” pagtutuloy ng long-time coach ng Bren,” he added.
Bren Esports had an impressive performance in the previous season, surprising everyone with a fourth place finish – their first time since Season 7.
The team continued to prove that they belong in the league’s top tier when they bounced back from a 0-2 loss to ECHO in their debut and took down Omega Esports, Nexplay EVOS, TNC, RSG Slate PH, Blacklist International, and ONIC PH – all via sweep.
