Naos Esports emerged victorious in the Valorant Challengers 2023 PH: Split 1 playoffs after an impressive run that saw them only drop a single map throughout the playoffs.

The team, led by former Team Secret star Riley “Witz” Go, along with veterans Deko “Papichulo” Evangelista and Johnty “JA” Arone, as well as rookies Jerome “Mojer” Literal and Noel “NDG” De Guia, claimed the championship after a 3-1 triumph over Oasis Gaming in the Grand Finals on March 12.

Despite an opening map hiccup where they forced overtime following a slow start, Naos lost the first game to Oasis Gaming in Lotus with a score of 15-13.

However, this setback seemed to have spurred them on, as they won the next three maps convincingly to claim the crown along with the top prize of P600,000.

In the second map, Fracture, Naos built an 8-4 lead before fending off Oasis’ late resistance to even the series with a 13-10 victory.

In Game 3, Naos pulled away in the second half to secure a 13-7 win, while in the fourth map, Ascent, it dominated after a tight first half, ultimately winning 13-8.

Naos’ success in the tournament was a near-perfect run, having won against GameLab Alpha in the upper bracket quarters with a 2-0 sweep before defeating SR Nacague with another 2-0 victory. They had already faced Oasis in the upper bracket finals, where they dominated with a 2-0 win, earning a spot in the finale.
