Amid the recent success of Talon Esports in the Lima Major, head coach Lee “SunBhie” Jeong-jae couldn’t help but recall his time when he was left without a team after parting ways with Fnatic.
According to the veteran tactician, he really wanted to join Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong after they both parted ways with Fnatic to explore other opportunities. Jabz was then signing with Talon so SunBhie said he begged to join the team and reunite with his former player.
The two then ended up working together with Talon Esports and are now wreaking havoc in the Lima Major playoffs when it took down the likes of Shopify Rebellions, Entity and Team Spirit in the lower bracket.
“I got super duper kicked from Fnatic but I really wanted to work with Jabz and Jabz was going to Talon so I begged to join the team so they let me in. Thank God,” said SunBhie following Talon’s pulsating 2-1 victory over Shopify Rebellion to advance to the lower bracket finals against Team Liquid.
SunBhie said he and Jabz have a great relationship as coach and captain something that manifested in their games when they pulled off some unorthodox picks that somehow worked wonders for them especially during their playoff run.
“I think I’ve known Jabz for a while since his early days in Fnatic. I think as a player he made an incredible growth and I really enjoyed working with him and I hope he really enjoy working with me too,” said the Korean coach
“I think we have a great chemistry and I think the captain coach relationship is the most important and we have established that,” he added.
