Team Liquid is set to continue their impressive Lima Major run without one of their key stars.

Head coach William “Blitz” Lee announced on Twitter that soft support Samuel “Boxi” Svahn has been pulled out of the tournament due to a medical emergency. Boxi immediately flew home to Sweden and will not move forward with the tournament.

Blitz also asked fans to send Boxi love and support and to not speculate as well.

“Update, Boxi will be flying home immediately due to a medical emergency and Jabbz will standin. I hope that the community understands that Boxi’s health is most important to us, and to not speculate and simply send him love and support,” said Blitz in a tweet.

Team analyst Mathis “Jabbz” Friesel will stand in for Boxi for the rest of the tournament. Team Liquid recently secured a bronze finish in the Lima Major and is set to face Gaimin Gladiators in the upper bracket finals for the first grand finals seat.

Blitz also thanked Valve for understanding Boxi’s condition, as well as Gaimin Gladiator co-owner Alex Cuccovillo, for spending the entire night helping them address the situation.

“We thank valve for the understanding and jabbz for stepping in. It isn’t an easy situation for him to standin last minute so I hope people send him positivity as well. We will still try our absolute best to win this tournament for Boxi. Ty no further comments,” he added.
