Tryke Loses Cool After Fan Calls Ninjaboogie ‘Budget Meal Coach’

Blacklist Rivalry co-owner Tryke Gutierrez took offense after fans called newly-hired coach Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross a ‘budget coach’ on social media.

The move drew mixed reactions from Blacklist fans but the negative comments outweighed the positives as they saw Ninjaboogie’s signing as the organization’s way to save money.

The Tier One Entertainment co-founder and CEO lost his cool after a fan commented ‘budget meal coach’ in which he replied to and offered the fan to send the invoice.

Tryke also denied the allegations and even compared the situation with buying a wide lot and building a nipa hut on top of it.

“The cost to run a roster of this caliber is not a joke. Sa tingin nyo ba pipili kami ng coach na pinili lang namin para makatipid? It’s like saying bumili ka ng mahal na lote tapos tinayo mo kubo,” said Tryke.

“Sa mga magsasabi na wag ko na patulan, ang masasabi ko lang may mga bagay na hate lang may mga bagay na nangaasar lang but you cant let the wrong narrative come out dahil tahimik ka lang lage,” he added.

(To those who are saying that I should just let this go, all I can say is that you just can’t be quiet all the time and let the wrong narrative come out)

To be fair, ninjaboogie, despite his decade-long experience in Dota 2, has yet to coach a major team in the Dota Pro Circuit.

He, however, already has massive experience in the scene as a player after leading Mineski’s back-to-back The International appearances in 2018 and 2019.

The team already received backlash from Dota 2 fans after deciding to push through with the first tour of the Dota Pro Circuit Southeast Asia Division I without a coach. Tryke explained that the team wanted to build a foundation and its identity first before hiring a coach.

Can ninjaboogie solve Blacklist Rivarly’s problems and steer them to the next Dota 2 Major? Or is he just a ‘budget meal coach’ just like the fan said? Only time can tell.
