The first series win remained elusive for Execration as it settled for a draw in its lone match in Day 2 of the Lima Major. The top DPC SEA team took an even 1-1 decision against Ehome early Friday morning,  Feb. 24.

The all-Filipino crew looked poised to complete a sweep after a dominant Game 1 win but just couldn’t get the break in the second game allowing their Chinese counterparts to force the draw.

Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina and Jinn Marrey “Palos” Lamatao did the work early in the series opener. The Filipinos took a 6-3 lead and an almost 4k gold advantage and never looked back to cruise to a commanding 36-18 win.

Bob unloaded an almost perfect game on the Puck, scattering 16 kills and 12 assists against a lone death. Palos added an 11-3-16 on the Lina.

Execration, however, couldn’t sustain the impressive start. It was caught in the middle of Ehome’s blistering fightback spearheaded by Lee “X1aOyU” Qian Yu and Wong “mks” Sim An.

After a so-so performance in the opening game, X1aOyu came alive on his Marci pick to finish with an impressive 16-4-12 line. Mks also provided the big plays to also end up with a neat 7-0-18 line on the Naga Siren.

After a strong start, Execration went from hot to ice cold in Game 2 with Palos being the lone bright spot with a 9-7-4 line on the Ursa pick.

Despite early struggles in the tournament, Execration remains in playoff contention. The Filipinos cling on the fifth spot of the Group A standings with a 0-2-1 slate, in tie with Evil Geniuses and behind leaders Gaimin Gladiator, Talon Esports, Team Spirit and Tundra Esports.
