OHEB Can Still Make It To The MPL. Here’s how

Despite not being included in Blacklist International’s MPL roster, gold laner Kiel “OHEB” Soriano can still rejoin the team in its title-retention bid in the MPL Philippines Season 11.

OHEB was part of the lineup released by Blacklist Academy for its MDL Season One campaign.

This makes him eligible to be picked up by his mother club through the mid-season transfer which allows the transfers of athletes and coaches from the MDL to the MPL and vice versa starting on February 20 until March 27.

Blacklist International head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani told reporters during the Season 11 media day at the GAMA Studios in Makati City that some Blacklist players decided to skip the season but eventually changed their minds.

“Gaya nung pinost ni boss Tryke [Guttierez], kinausap namin lahat ng players then binigyan sila ng parang chance kung gusto ba nila mag-pahinga or gusto nilang mag-laro for Season 11. So dahil kakatapos lang din ng M4 nun kaya yung thinking nila or mindset nila nun is pagod pa talaga kaya naisip nilang mag-rest,” said Master the Basics last January 28.

“Pero ngayon kasi parang gusto na ulit nila kaso tapos na yung submission ng lineup so baka lang ah, baka lang, baka lang ma-lineup sila sa MDL kung sakali,” added MTB, hinting that the two might suit up in the MDL.”

If Blacklist opts to move OHEB before the March 27 deadline, he will provide immediate impact to a new-look squad that will miss the likes of Salic “Hadji” Imam, Mark “ESON” Gerardo, and head coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza.

According to league rules, a player may only transfer from their MDL team to their MPL team up to three (3) times per season.

However, MPL to MDL transfers are unlimited per season provided the roster will not go below the player minimum (5 starters and 1 substitute) and may not go beyond the maximum (5 starters and 5 substitutes).

A coach may also be transferred following the same process, but only two (2) times per season. The right to transfer coaches and players only applies to those with a parent MPL franchise team. Both Gamelab and ZOL Esports are not eligible.
