Fnatic Disbands After Underwhelming DPC Campaign

In a shocking turn of events, Fnatic has announced that they will temporarily withdraw from Dota 2 after its lackluster performance in the recently concluded Dota Pro Circuit SEA 2023 Tour 1: Division I, the organization announced on Friday night.

The esports giant signed Filipino carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte and Australian offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok prior to the season, pairing them with mid laner Armel “Armel” Tabios and supports Djardel “DJ” Mampusti and Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla.

Unfortunately, the move failed to bear fruit as the team ended up dead-last in the Tour 1 after finishing with a lowly 1-6 slate which dropped them to Division II.

“After reflecting on the sustainability of our DOTA 2 roster, we’ve made the hard decision to temporarily withdraw from the title,” said Fnatic in an official statement.

The organization said that the five will end their ongoing stint in the BTS Pro Series before officially parting ways. Fnatic also promised to assist their players and staff in finding a new team.

“We are working hard to source a new home for our existing Dota players and staff before formally leaving the DPC Tour 2023,” said Fnatic.

“The current roster will continue to represent Fnatic through the ongoing BTS Pro Series, after which we will support each of them as they explore their next steps in their careers,” the statement continued.

Fnatic thanked their players and wished them good luck in their next steps.

“Thank you Gabbidota, Armeldota, Kpiidota, Djardel “Dj” Mampusti, & Jaunuel for representing us throughout. We are proud and grateful to be part of your journey and we wish you luck in your next endeavours.”
