Although the tournament went smoothly for the playoffs, the weekdays break was felt to be unnecessary by fans, including Topson.

With the conclusion of the playoffs, the finals would be held the next weekend. The weekdays break was regarded by fans as unnecessary and killing the “momentum” of the teams, which Topson also agrees to.

He felt that momentum was important for high-stake games, especially during TIs.

Topson explained his concerns while streaming on the SEA region. He mentioned the difficulty that Upper Bracket teams must face after winning games. Since they were in the Upper Bracket, they were facing matches every 2-3 days.

The long breaks between matches were regarded to be damaging to teams’ momentum.

“Having that long of a break is kinda harmful to the Upper Bracket teams. They were already chilling too much.”

The legendary midlaner also thought that on the other hand, teams from the Lower Bracket would have an advantage due to it. They would have more time to study their opponent without having to worry about being eliminated early in the tournament.

This helped tremendously in maintaining momentum and energy, while also being able to study for their opponent’s weakness.

However, Topson still thought that the break was too long, even for the Lower Bracket teams. The duration would kill any momentum the teams have, and they would have to start fresh again.

“But five days is a long time though, it’s too much. Just one or two days would be enough for the players. I don’t know what you do in five days while playing tournaments.”
