PASIG, Philippines – Heavily favored Blacklist International has secured their chance to defend their world title in M4 after sending ECHO Esports down to the lower bracket, 3-0.
The epic showdown showed Blacklist’s supremacy after the squad fed their fans’ dreams by taking a convincing series win against the all-star lineup of ECHO.
The first game of the series was a treat for fans with a 25-minute back-and-forth between title-hungry ECHO and Blacklist.
KarltZy’s fed Karina failed to turn the tide for ECHO forcing them to hand over the first game to the M3 champions.
Game two of the series surprised fans with Wise’s Guinevere pick. Meanwhile, ECHO stuck with their traditional drafting and secured a Rafaela pick for Yawi.
The series appeared one-sided after Blacklist was empowered by OhMyV33nus’ Diggie. The highlight, however, centered on Wise whose surprise pick stole the show with multiple objectives being secured by his Guinevere.
With a power spike secured by the team’s signature playstyle, Blacklist ended the game in just under 20 minutes.
The third game of the series was a repeat performance as Blacklist, this time, secured their regular season comfort draft. This time, Oheb’s Claude had his own shine after ending the series with perfect 4-0-2 stats.
With this feat, Blacklist is now set for M4, and is now a step away from defending its title.
“Kahit sinong makalaban namin, wala kaming pipiliin kasi paghahandaan talaga namin,” Wise told.
“Hopefully makalaban namin mga kapwa Pinoy para eventually, Pinoy pa rin and panalo,” coach BON CHAN said.
Currently, there are multiple Filipino stars playing overseas such as Baloyskie in GEEK Fam ID, as well as Kairi and Dlarskie.
Meanwhile, ECHO’s dream remains afar as the team will have to fight for survival in the lower bracket. The squad will have to face the winner between RSG and Bren for a chance to secure an M4 ticket.
