Although Team Spirit labeled BOOM Esports as “mediocre”, the SEA team has proven their worth by eliminating the TI10 champion.

BOOM Esports did another upset in The International 11 by eliminating the defending champions, Team Spirit. The game itself became spicy after Yatoro controversially called BOOM Esports “mediocre” during streams.

With this victory, BOOM would still be in one of the difficult spots by facing last year’s runner-up, PSG.LGD.

As it was a best-of-one match, there would be no retry for both BOOM or Team Spirit should they lose this match. This might affect Team Spirit’s mindset as they look nervous, unlike their usual swagger team play.

It started right from the draft as Team Spirit picked the unconventional Outworld Destroyer as an offlane for Collapse. Meanwhile BOOM opted for the tried and tested Marci – Shadow Fiend combo which saw some potential success.

The game got out of control for Team Spirit as both Yopaj and Jacky went wild with their heroes. Yopaj secured the space for Jacky’s Shadow Fiend to farm the whole map, winning two Roshan in the process.

BOOM played the high-ground siege perfectly as Team Spirit struggled and finally crumbled to the pressure. BOOM won the game in the 40th minute.

With this victory, BOOM will be facing another tough opponent which was the runner-up for the last TI, PSG.LGD. With their victory over Team Spirit, fans hoped that BOOM could carry their momentum against the strongest Chinese team so far as well.
