Another controversy happened during OG vs Liquid in the Group Stage of The International 11 as the infamous “abandon” bug happened to Misha.

The International 11 could potentially go on as one of the most infamous tournaments after controversies. One of the most recent was the “abandon” bug that disrupted OG – Liquid, forcing OG’s captain Misha to abandon the game.

Players from both teams, admins included, were confused by the occurrence of the rare bug.

At first, Misha disconnected due to lags which bothered his gameplay throughout the game. However, his teammates later explained that Misha couldn’t reconnect since the button disappeared for some reason.

Turns out this bug was quite infamous in custom lobbies and custom games which was called an “abandon bug”.

The bug was quite infamous for both custom games (Arcade) and lobbies as it happens rather frequently. When a player disconnects, they cannot reconnect since the button either disappeared or players couldn’t reconnect at all.

It seems Valve hasn’t quite gotten to fix the bug yet since it occurred only on arcades and custom lobbies.

To make matters worse, the bug happened when OG was in the lead with 14,000 gold as Liquid was struggling. OG players even offered to keep playing with 4v5 as they felt they could close the game with their lead.

However, Team Liquid insisted that they fought 5 vs 5, and conferred with the admins for the final decision.
