Sunsfan and Synderen, in the “We Say Things” podcast, was extremely alarmed by with the recent state of Dota.

Ever since The International 11 was around the corner, there were non-stop talks about the state of Dota itself. The latest concern was now raised by Sunsfan, one of the notable talent in Dota scene.

He was feeling extremely “alarmed” with the recent state of Dota, with many things worrying him about the state of the game itself.

Sunsfan elaborated his thoughts on Dota while speaking on his podcast, “We Say Things”. He speculated that there would be news that would make players and fans of Dota protests massively.

“There’s going to be news coming out after TI from, let’s just say a third-party. Not directly related to Valve at all, but once it’s announced, it’s gonna make some waves as well. The pitchforks would be out, most likely. It’s just like domino after domino after domino.”

He felt that the recent state of Dota and Valve’s handling of it had became “unstable”. Although he felt Valve consisted of “smart people”, he was clearly disappointed by their handling of Dota.

The peak of his frustration was during the Caster Voiceline getting stickers requirement, which doesn’t guarantee the voicelines itself.

Synderen also explained that he felt the Dota dream was ending after 11 years of going strong. He speculated that the developer who cared for Dota have moved on to another Valve project, essentially abandoning the game.

“Maybe some of the people that have been influential, important to the flow of Dota development have moved on. Either they were not with Valve anymore, or they have changed project.”

Synderen also mentioned that players would really see the things changing when the “crucial” developer left the game. Fans speculated that he was referring to Icefrog and other developers, such as Jeff, who was quite active in Dota communities recently.
